Radio frequency identification (RFID) is an exciting, multidisciplinary field with numerous applications. The 2015 IEEE International Conference on RFID Technology and Applications is the premier conference for exchanging all technical research in passive and active RFID and their applications. The conference attendance boasts an outstanding mix of practitioners and researchers from industry and academia alike. This year, the 2015 IEEE RFID-TA conference will be held in Tokyo, Japan, a city of remarkable technology, world class entertainment, and welcoming, traditional culture. The Tokyo conference is jointly organized with the 17th Auto-ID & Communications Expo, Japan’s largest showcase of automatic identification technology – RFID, barcode and image recognition, among others. Last year, the Expo attracted more than 16,000 people. The Expo is free to visit for all RFID-TA attendees. Likewise, many industrial attendees of the Auto-ID Expo are expected to participate in RFID-TA 2015 to learn about the cutting-edge technology under development.
